He completed his schooling from the St. Robert’s H. S. School, Darjeeling; thereafter, he did his graduation from the Darjeeling Govt. College. He was employed in the State Bank of India, till 2005. He was initiated to the study of the Buddhist teachings by his late father Wangchu Lama, who was very close to Lama Jampal Dorjee.
