drinking water to visitors at the fair. He returns to the fairgrounds in the evening to enjoy the music and festivities. But the celebration takes a tragic turn with the sudden collapse of the suspension bridge connecting the fairgrounds to Bijanbari town. Sukraj survives the fall and, though injured, immediately begins helping those trapped in the wreckage. His life takes an unexpected twist after he saves an unknown woman from certain death. That single act of compassion draws him into a complex web of uncalled-for commitments and unanswered questions. What began as a simple gesture of kindness spirals into a contorted narrative, which grimly coincides with the first anniversary of the bridge collapse. Gyanendra Bhandari is a young author from Bijanbari, a serene valley town nestled in Darjeeling District of West Bengal. Gyanendra completed his early education from Vidya Jyoti Academy (Bijanbari) and Matriculation and Higher secondary from New Light Academy (Namchi, South Sikkim). He graduated with Honours in Economics from St. Joseph’s College, Darjeeling, and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of North Bengal. He is specialised in International Trade and Econometrics.
