The posthumous collection "Ankhla Ankhla ra Ankhaharoo" by poet Shovit Rai is a compilation of contemporary Nepali short poems. Published by BukAnt, the book encompasses beautiful verses exploring various topics such as love, separation, Gorkha consciousness, and the crisis of human values. Rai, recognized as a powerful poet in Indian-Nepali poetry, introduced a unique style and figurative language to the field. Rai, born on October 11, 1960, studied at Vidyasagar Higher Secondary School, Bijanbari, and taught at Vidyasagar Girls' Primary School, Bijanbari. He also spent a portion of his life in Kathmandu. His previously published poetry collections, 'Anuprastha' (1994) and 'Shabda Saramsa' (2000), showcased his literary prowess. Rai also exhibited his talent in lyrics composition, drama writing, and staging. His play 'Chiso Atma' was presented by Kala Sangam of Bijanbari. Tragically, Rai, a calm, simple, and thoughtful literary figure, passed away suddenly in an accident on October 22, 2011. His absence is deeply felt in the Darjeeling Nepali poetry community, but his words and artistic contributions endure, leaving an indelible mark on the cultural landscape. "Ankhla Ankhla ra Ankhaharoo" includes the critical notes written by veteran poets Manprasad Subba, Dr. Rajendra Bhandari and Mohan Thakuri.
