Basudev Pulami

Dr. Basudeo Thapa is widely known as poet-author Basudev Pulami in Nepali literary world. He was born on October 12, 1981 in Mundakothi tea garden Sonada, Darjeeling, India. He did his Ph.D. on the metaphorical study of the folklore of Magar community from University of North Bengal. He is the editor of the paper collection ‘Indrayan’ and the literary magazine ‘Samaveshi Sankathan’. He was awarded with Bhaichand Pradhan Smriti Puraskar in 2017. He is the member of Samaveshi Sahitya Abhiyan, India. He is an Assistant Professor at the department of Nepali, Kalipada Ghosh Tarai Mahavidyalaya, Bagdogra, Darjeeling, India, who teaches Nepali language and folklore. He lives in Siliguri. He has published ‘Magar Jati ra Magar Bhasha’ (ethno-culture study of Magar community, 2009) as well as the anthologies of Nepali poems ‘Ujjyaloka Aankha’ (2012) and ‘Adha Artha’ (2012).
